Please send this letter to (Bernie Ecclestone) to prevent #F1 race in #Bahrain on this email address: admin@formula1.com

Dear Bernie Ecclestone,

I write to you out of concern and love for the People of Bahrain, & hope that you take the time to read my words. I also hope that my words do the people of Bahrain Justice.

You have been quoted as saying that upon your visit to Bahrain, you wish to visit the hospitals and prisons in Bahrain to witness yourself if there are any ongoing abuses occurring. As a British Academic living in Bahrain, I would urge you to do this as there are many 100's of horrific cases of human injustice and torture still occurring in these places, I would also say to you, that you do not need to go as far as the prison or hospital but to go to the Villages, Sitra, Bani Jamrah, Sananbis etc and you will witness how people are imprisoned in their own villages, by daily violent suppression by police governed by the Royal Family. I ask you, Mr Ecclestone, is the F1 Race for all People? because I can tell you that while it will be going on, these people in the villages will be imprisoned more, will be shot at when they try to leave there villages, just so the world does not hear their plead and does not see their pain.

On your visit to the Prison, ask to speak to the men that are on Hunger Strike and ask yourself what does a man feel when he feels his only option is to starve himself to death in order to gain his freedom. I must warn you though, that these men may be hard to find among the 700 political prisoners that reside in this overcrowded and dirty prison. Among these prisoners are Teachers, Artists, Sportsmen, Scholars, Nurses and men that are Fathers, Husbands & Sons. These are Jailed People and their crime is that they had the strength to speak out for a better life & wanted change.

An Independent commission of Human Rights Experts recently criticised the Military Trials and advised the authorities to review all convictions. But the case of the 14 Opposition figures, who include Adbulhadi Al Khawaja, Hassan Mushaimaa and the sunni Opposition leader Ibrahim Sharif is set to be heard only by the Court of Cassation, the highest appeal court.

I would like you to be aware that when a person is arrested in Bahrain, they are not entitled to a phone call, nor entitled to a lawyer, they are questioned by Police without the interview been filmed and most often they are threatened and beaten. They are made sign a statement at this point, and only then are brought to the Public Prosecution, where more often than not they still have no Lawyer. Most young Boys would love to be able to attend the Formula One Race in Bahrain but they are been held for Investigation for 45 days, without having a fair trial and most often than not, having committed no crime.

It appalls me to think that you would consider having such an event in a country that practices such abuses towards its people, and in a country where the governing state do not consider these people suffering true Bahraini’s.

There has been No Reform in Bahrain, as in order to solve a problem, the problem has to be admitted first and unfortunately this is not the case in Bahrain.

I say to you, what is happening in Bahrain is nothing short of Ethnic Cleansing & I urge you, if you have any compassion and conscience to reconsider where you host the formula one race, Please host it in a country where All People are Equal, Where All People Can attend if they wish to do so.

Thank You for taking the time to read my words.
A loving and Concerned Person.
