08-10-12 01:38 PM Many Detainees Denied Proper Medical Treatment Al-Wefaq: Banning Nabeel Rajab from attending his Mother’s mourning ceremonies proves the regime’s inhuman treatment http://alwefaq.net/index.php?show=news&action=article&id=7061 Sunday 7 th October, 2012 Al-Wefaq said that banning the human rights activist, Nabeel Rajab (head of Bahrain Human Rights Center) from attending his mother's mourning ceremonies is a clear violation to the law and to human rights crossing all ethics, morals and human values of the people. This ban indicates that the power of law is absent and the regime is ruling the country through an arrogant mentality that exploits the state’s constitutions to vindictively punish its opponents. Al-Wefaq stated that such recklessness of detainees' rights is a typical behavior of the regime. Detainees are deprived from basic human rights, in addition to their right to treatment, despite the fact that some detainees are in critical health conditions. There are many detainees who suffer from critical illnesses while the judiciary and the Ministry of Interior are watching without taking any serious actions to provide the detainees with the treatment they need. However, the situation of many detainees is so worrying and might face the same destiny of the late martyr Mohammed Mushaima who died in police custody due to depriving him suitable treatment at the hospital. Al-Wefaq also mentioned that so many detainees are suffering from serious injuries and they need immediate treatment. Yet, the regime’s inhuman handling of the problem has left them without necessary treatment. Mohammed Sahwan, has been seriously injured with Birdshots for months and is still denied necessary treatment. Ali Sami is another injured detainee who was shot with Birdshot at his leg. Ali Abu-Edrees, a minor in prison and whose case is very worrying. Abu-Edrees is suffering from an illness which puts his life at risk as has been proved by medical reports of the security’s health centre, but the authorities still refuse to release him in order for his family to take him for treatment because of his health deterioration. There is a long list of detainees who are still in need for medical treatment but are denied, this puts the detainees’ at risk. المصدر... __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__ |
