(Reuters) - Bahrain's crown prince has ordered police to exercise restraint in dealing with protesters and to avoid sectarian discrimination, as opposition activists accuse the Gulf Arab state of cracking down on pro-democracy protests.
The opposition party Wefaq praised the crown prince's comments.


Our comments:
This is so far the third desperate attempt by the illegitimate Al-Khalifa regime and the internal Counter-Revolution forces (the political parties led by Wefaq) to circumvent the revolution and stab it "politically" from the back!

We expect this show aimed to prepare the atmosphere for a new "dialogue" that will result in Wefaq returning to the parliament later this year or early next year.

However, once again, this attempt is bound to fail, just as the previous ones did and for exactly the same reasons!


Street protestors and many political activists consider the Crown Prince as criminal as his father (king Hamad) and uncle (Khalifa - the PM) and distrust him (Note: the CP is commonly called "Salman Bahar" in reference to his stealing of most of the sea shores in the country).

The political parties have lost most of their credibility, especially among young people. Playing a part in this show will probably become the final blow to whatever left of their credibility.

The CP speech at the MOI was meaningless. If he truly had any power to stop police violations, then he is accused for maintaining complicit silence for a year and a half. On the other hand, if he had no power, then the whole show was nothing but an empty PR exercise and daily violations will continue (in fact they did already).
