The Arrest of Mohammed Al Zayani

Mohammed Al Zayani, a moderate Pro-Govt Figure has been arrested in Bahrain. He served in the Navy for 30 years, but despite his retirement he is being prosecuted in a Military Court. Al Zayani is known for criticizing the govt and for his constant communication with members of the opposition, he stands with justice, putting sectarianism, extremism, and lies, behind him. He is one of many 'Sunnis' that have been targeted for their views.

Al Zayani has been arrested since the 16th of June, his family didn't here about him for days, until recently when they visited him. As Per his daughter, he is being charged for writing 2 articles dating back 2 years, one he says he never wrote. She also said that during her visit she saw that one of his finger nails were 'pulled out' and he looked fatigued, which raised concern of torture. Adding that he complains that he isn’t being allowed to pray with the other cellmates and guards, he is used to praying with a group, as a religious trait for over 40 years no, it crushes him. One of her tweets to @LameesDhaif, an opposition journalist in exile, said: "My dad was arrested for talking to you!". The details of his case remain unclear and his family remain worried, missing him. All Opposition members are calling for the release of Al Zayani, who's only crime was loving his country and asking for unity.. This is what the oppression in Bahrain has come to.
