I was getting way too much spam, so I followed the steps recommended here, particularly enabling reCAPTCHA in addition to adding a new required question upon signup. I didn't set the moderate new members option to yes, but I did enable Akismet. I used the same key as I have for my Wordpress blog appears to work okay. In my Wordpress blog, Akismet works great, but in the forums, there have been several high ranking members whos posts are getting moved over to the moderation queue. Yes, this system is catching the human spammers, but this is at the expense of moderating long time members in our community
I'm just starting to familiarize myself with the moderation features available in vBulletin, so please bear with me here.
Are there any configuration options for moderation? I can't seem to find any. I looked at the Usergroup options for the Registered Users usergroup and I keep seeing the option "Follow _______ moderation rules" in various sections. Where are the "moderation rules" and how are they configured?
From what it looks, if I select No, then all of their posts will be moved into the moderation queue. If I select Yes, then only some of their posts will be moved there. What do I do to prevent well-known "non-spammer" posts being moved into the moderation queue?
