NewsHunt is a revolutionary On Mobile Newspaper that allows subscribers to read their choice of regional dailies on the go

India has as many as 20 official regional languages. And in recent years, an expanding economy has raised both incomes and literacy in small towns and rural areas. Millions of people, who mainly speak the local language, now are turning to regional newspapers for the latest headlines. As a result, regional audiences have been steadily growing in size. India is the second largest market for newspapers. And as per Census 2001, India's literacy rate is 65%, the literacy rate for English as language is somewhere around 7% to 8% of the population. But the low internet penetration makes it difficult for the readers to have access to the latest news as and when its reported.

Eterno understands the importance of regional language in the newspaper reach in India. With the increasing level of literacy, newspapers in regional language are increasingly becoming the platform for not only sharing information abut also education and entertainment. Keeping this is in mind, Eterno has developed a mobile platform for the newspaper in their regional language. The language supported currently are, Hindi, Bengali, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, Telegu, English. We are continuously working towards adding other languages to the foray of products we offer.

The On Mobile Newspaper is a mobile application which will reside on the subscriber’s mobile handset. The content of the newspaper in the regional language will be continuously updated newspapers with the latest news. The application is compatible with all handsets with basic GPRS capabilities (like AirtelLive, VodafoneLive etc). The application is compatible with more than 200 handsets and high end handsets like iPhone, Blackberry etc. are getting added to the compatible handsets list to address the high flying consumers and NRIs.
