Talks about reforms are not true and nothing tangible can be seen..
Al-Wefaq : the situation in Bahrain is getting worse and worse and has been in political and humanitarian deterioration more than ever

Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society stressed the political and humanitarian situation in Bahrain is deteriorating and it is certainly heading toward the worst.

Al-Wefaq denied any kinds of reforms, and described the situation as a serious detonation. The turmoil has destroyed Bahrain politically, economically and humanitarianly as the security situation is getting worse. In fact Bahrain is going backward rather than forward. Dictatorship has been widened with no limits and the authority is still refusing to have serious talks with the opposition.
The authority is also refusing to criticize its brutal dictatorial actions which Bahrain is still being run by. The humanitarian situation is getting worse, the brutal repression hasn’t stopped until the moment of writing this statement. The police forces backed by their weapons are attacking all areas practicing collective punishment and this is happening in almost half of Bahrain.

Al-Wefaq stressed that what has been uncovered by Mr. Bassiouni are great crimes committed by the authority which is refusing to change its behaviors, in fact it is turning its back against the report in a very clear way and has started to fabricate and make up stories to mislead the public opinion that it is really implementing the recommendations of the report while it is not.

Al-Wefaq also stressed that those who committed the crimes are the same persons assigned by the government to investigate, which is very outrageously intimidating for the victims.

Al-Wefaq stressed the national community to take serious action to stop the appalling and crystal-clear manipulation of the recommendations of the report which is being falsely promoted by the government.

Al-Wefaq has warned that mass of those who refuse the regime is getting bigger and bigger and the majority of the people of Bahrain no longer trust the government and such fabrications and manipulations will widen the mass and the anger of the people of Bahrain.

Al-Wefaq sees that moving towards democracy urgently is the only way out from this political turmoil, otherwise Bahrain is heading to the unknown. Bahrain has no choice but to implement the recommendations of Mr. Bassiouni's report and to sack those who committed all the crimes mentioned in the report, that is, the current government which has been in power for 40 years. Al-Wefaq has also emphasized that a national team should have direct supervision on implementing the recommendations and this team should be a neutral committee instead of illegal committees consisting of persons accused of committing activities condemned by the report.

Al-Wefaq concluded by emphasizing that its hand is open to save the country from its turmoil and it agrees with all the opinions that demand a democratic transformation which is the only way out from this turmoil
