Recently my host "lost" the database for my forum. That's a whole issue in and of itself (no thanks to Hostgator, and yes I am switching!) They were able to restore the database but the most recent one we had was a few days old. This means that the threads made in the last few days were of course not able to be recovered. However, the thread titles remain... they just are empty when you open them. And part 2 of this - the search function now won't go back longer than the day we recovered the database, which was on 10/2. It seems to not be able to search any further than when it hits the empty threads. I need to remove these dead links - and I am handy in SQL so I've been able to isolate the threads by joining the tables thread to post on threadid, where the post threadid is null. Would deleting the records out of the thread table cause problems - or is there an easier or better way to remove these threads from appearing in the forum still... and from mucking up my search function? __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__ |
