Blog Blog vs. CMS

We recently upgraded our forums to 4.0.6. I'm a bit confused about the difference between the blog system and the CMS system. It seems to me that the blogging system is where users could add content and CMS is where only admins add content. But other than that...the functionality seems very similar to me. Am I missing something? In our case, we'll only have admins posting content so the two systems seem redundant.

Can someone give me an example of when admins would use blogs rather than the cms ? __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__
