Please give users the ability to provide a "screen name" that is different than their actual login name.
Reasons:
1. Currently, vBulletin exposes to all users everyone's login name. That provides the world half of each user's login information, the other half being a password of course. If you only expose the screen name, then that keeps both the login name and the password hidden from everyone else. Many sites around the web do this. vBulletin doesn't seem to provide this as an option.
2. Some users use a login name that is simple or means something to them. It may not be helpful or appropriate to expose this name to everyone else. For example, some users like to use their email address or employee number as their login name. But in vBulletin, that then exposes this information to the world. (You might say, then don't use private information in a login name. True, but look, some users are very lo-tech and need to keep things very simple for themselves. Many internal and external sites hide the login name, so it's ok for them. With vBulletin it's a different rule, that login names are freely exposed.)
