Suite Discrepencies on instructions for installing PHP

Hello,

Am a bit lost with the instructions given for installing PHP and Apache at http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html.

For example, as per the instructions there, I should do the following:

cd /usr/local/src/php-xxx
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/php --with-config-file-path=/usr/local/php --with-mysql --with-apache=../apache_xxx
make
make install
However, this didn't work as I and quit a few others had to do the following:
1) Execute "yum install libxml2-devel"
2) Download devel RPM from MySQL
3) Execute "./configure --with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs --with-mysql=/usr/local/src --with-libdir=lib64"

That's fine as I did eventually have both Apache/PHP installed, though having the document updated would help.

But what I'm stuck at is this part. At the end of the manual it says I have to add the following to the httpd.conf file:

AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
However, as per php.net, I have to add the following (looks like the way we define what file extension should be processed has changed from "AddType" to "FilesMatch"? Am I off the wrong path?
