Forum Error Connecting to MySQL

I've just transfered my database and files over to a new server. The index page is mostly working here.

However, beyond that I am getting an error message "Error Connecting to MySQL". I'm normally pretty good at troubleshooting this stuff but the error message gives me nothing to on.

My config.php is definately working (when I change the username/password/database name etc. I get a database error instead of Error connecting to MySQL so I know thats working. I also know the database has correctly transfered. As far as I can see, the firewall also isn't the problem.

A small note - you may notice some site links point to a different URL (.com instead of .info). To minimise downtime we are doing the upgrade with our .info domain before we transfer the .com over.

Server stuff:
VPS, i have plesk + root access
PHP 5.2.13-0.1.1
MySQL 5.0.67-12.17.7

Any help pointing me towards the problem would really help! Thanks __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__
