What should contribute towards the user Post Count

Well, I guess I should start with a quick question:

If a user creates an article, does that contribute to the users post count? It appears to. So do the comments being made in that article.

On the flip side, blog entries and blog comments do -not- count towards the overall post count. Not sure if visitor messages and album comments do or don't.

How are / should / these content types be handled in terms of post count? __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__
