My previous forum webhost has died totally and they've gone bust. Problem is the main site I had with them was my forum. I have a backup of the database so thought it best to simply repoint the domain to my godaddy account .I know, I know I've now read about godaddy problems with vb but I actually got vbulletin installed and working on godaddy fairly quickly once I'd looked up the settings on the internet. The problem I have now, which is critical - is getting the backup of the database working properly. I tried it via myphp admin panel (as the backup file is only10.2M) - It seemed to take forever though so I hit cancel and tried again, this time the update went fairly fast and told me 33,000 files had been successfully reimported. But when I go to the home page all I get is error messages. I'm not sure if I've corrupted the database by trying to partially load it the first time and then fully load it the second time - I know nothing about the backend side of things and need urgent help as I know I can't crack it on my own. Big problem is I know nothing about mysql or myphpadmin. I really want to get this working today but I'm a beginner as regards to databases. Is there anyone out there that would be prepared to help me get it sorted out? I really am desparate as I was at No.1 in Google and now I'm dropping like a stone Bizarrely even though the home page isn't working I had two new members sign up this morning - so clearly the upload has partially worked some where All advice appreciated but be aware I'm a beginner as far as the technical side of Vbulletin goes. I am UK based so anyone in the GMT time zone who can help much appreciated Regards Dickie __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__ |
