Forum Forums for Dummies? teaching technophobes how to use & navigate forums!

Hi All,

I've recently set up a forum for providing some training support for attendees on a webinar programme. The concept is simple, the forum has a public and a members only area where they can download recordings of the webinar and use it to discuss each session, ask questions and 'meet' other participants.

The problem lies in that many of these people are largely new to forums, and just haven't a clue! Bless them! (remember giving your grandparents their first computer lessons?)

So what am hoping someone can point me at some resources for helping me explain how a forum works etc. Main problems seem to be the principals of logging in, navigating a forum and understanding the structure.

The other thing that has occurred to me is that there may be some form of forum plugin to create a fricking huge sidebar menu making it all simpler to navigate? Site Navigation style aimed at the visually impaired is the sort of thing I'm looking for!

If anyone can help I and a few hundred technophobes would be eternally gratefull! __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__
