My forum is getting more and more people subscribing to forums opting for the daily updates option. This of course is great, except for one thing: my host blocked my emails since the number of subscriptions exceeds their 250 limit.
After hours of discussing this, they finally suggested I use sendmail, which required me to shift vb from smtp to sendmail, then reconfigure my spf records to deal with it. Not today, they come back saying the 250 limit applies to sendmail as well. They are unwilling to consider the daily digest anything but bulk mail, and thump their chests as they point to their terms of service, which is mostly about spam, mail blasts, etc. I don't want to move my site from my current host, as it would be a royal pain, and at this time of year I don't have time for it. Maybe later, as these guys have little concern about the success of my website, as they clearly demonstrated yesterday. I need clean mail that doesn't get dropped into spam boxes. How people here in this situation deal with this? Is it easy as getting a separate hosting account at another company just for smtp, or is getting a company that only deals with smtp as a specialty? __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__ |
