Some of you may be familiar with my previous post Beware of MochaHost where I've chronicled a horrible experience with the sub-par hosting provider MochaHost.

Well - I've just been made aware of a situation a client & friend of mine is experiencing with them. He's a high-functioning autistic poet and member of my forum for writers. He hired me to set up his website and I've managed the site for him since, with content updates, graphic design, etc.... I actually recommended MochaHost to him back in 2007

It's recently brought to my attention that his site has been offline for several weeks now. So I've filed a support ticket on his behalf:




So - The hosting was paid for by my friend 2 years in advance, including domain registration/renewals... The site has been offline for weeks now and they want the cPanel username/password?!?!? Seriously...? Am I missing something here or is this just plain ridiculous? For some odd reason, I get the distinct impression that they are taking advantage of him ((sigh...))

IDK - but hopefully we can find out what the issue is as to get the site back online long enough to transfer all data to a new server, etc...

UPDATE 4.18.2010

For some reason - my friend has simply sent MochaHost a payment on April 16 for the 2 invoices mentioned in the screenshot above.

HIS WEBSITE IS STILL OFFLINE!

I'm hoping the site will again be back online so that I can transfer it to my own server ASAP, at which point I will tell him to place a chargeback for that payment.

UPDATE 4.19.2010

Well - it may look as if my friends site has been destroyed! I'm not sure - but see the the last additions made to the support ticket below. I'm beyond frustrated and it shows. It should show! My friend has paid those fools over at MochaHost - He should NOT be getting screwed by them:

This support ticket was filed on the 9th of April! There's absolutely NO WAY it should take over a week to figure out why the hell this site is still offline.

The bottom line is - THE PAYMENT HAS BEEN MADE! THE SITE SHOULD BE ONLINE!

And we'd appreciate it if the site is placed back online IMMEDIATELY instead of MochaHost support acting as if it does not know what the hell it is doing!

R.S. --- What do you mean "RECREATE THE ACCOUNT"?????????

Please tell me that all the data which was the entire http://blablabla.com site is saved and has been backed up on MochaHost servers as it should have been this entire time!

The site has been offline for weeks! The site should have been ONLINE this entire time. What the HELL is going on here?
