Forum v4: Unread posts in forum

I thought that in the forum if you haven't read a new post that the icon would stay as "unread forum posts" until you read it.

However, I am noticing that, let's say, I make a post, and then someone will reply, but if someone else reads it before I read it again, it shows as I've read it already with the "no unread forum post" icon.

Is there a way to set it so until I read a post it stays as unread? Is this a refresh rate or is something else messed up? __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__
