Suite Upgrade to 3.8.4 before 4.0?

Hi. There seems to be a disagreement between the "vBulletin 4.x Upgrade Instructions" and the V4_readme.html. (I've highlighted key points in red for clarity.)

The Upgrade Instructions (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/conte...e-Instructions) say:

You can upgrade to the latest version of vBulletin from the following vBulletin versions:
Any version of vBulletin 3.7 or 3.8 to the current version.

...
Note that due to the number of changes being made to the database and back end functionality of version 4, we recommend that anyone running a version prior to 3.7 upgrades to version 3.8.4 first before moving to version 4.
...

The "vb4_readme.html" says:

Upgrading from older versions of vBulletin

Before upgrading to vBulletin 4.0, you will need to download the files to upgrade to vBulletin 3.8.4.
...

Which version of the docs is correct? We have V3.7.3 PL1. Can we go straight from V3.7.3 to V4 (per the Upgrade Instructions)? Or do we need to upgrade to V3.8.4 first (per the readme file)?
