Forum Image attachments all show as question mark icons

Hi all,

Forum is running great:
http://www.vwgolf.net.au

I have a problem where people cannot display uploaded attachments. When they upload attachments they can see the file size, file name but no thumbs (all images are shown as question mark icons).

A little "X" in the top right corner of the icon reads:
this asset is not currently being used by any content that you have access to

When you drag this icon Attachment 43624 to the message filed it shows this:
