IPS has a nice free script for centralized login with multiple IPB installations and third-party programs like Joomla, WordPress. I think it will be of a great benefit for vBulletin to offer a similar product. I am planning to have three sites, possibly four, running on vB4 Suite. I wanna my users not to register multiple times to have access to all of them. Could you please consider developing such a product for us, vBulletin customers? Remember right now IPS is working on "copying" vB features to accomodate recent converts from vB and, I guess, to woo in new ones. Examples: Soft-delete, Topic Preview and I read somewhere they are working on CMS. http://community.invisionpower.com/b...topic-preview/ http://community.invisionpower.com/b...e-soft-delete/ Quotes from IPS site and community forum about IP.Converge: Quote: IP.Converge is our innovative authentication system that enables separate applications to centrally authenticate users, and optionally share data such as profiles. IP.Converge works with all IPS products, and many third-party products such as Wordpress and Joomla. IP.Converge is free to all IPS customers. Quote: IP.Converge allows you to centralize the login process from multiple IPB installations, yes. All of the sites get "converged", and then when you login to any converged site, it calls out to the central IP.Converge installation to validate the login. This way, their logins are shared between all installations. Additionally, if they visit a new converged site, but haven't logged in before, they can login and an account is created automatically (bypassing the need to register again). So basically they use the same email address and password to log in, and can choose a different user name per site? Exactly. http://community.invisionpower.com/t...b/page__st__40 __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__ |
