Hello,

First I'll start with an example from my CMS:

I have my CMS Home page, under that I have primary sections for 'Articles', 'Poetry', and 'Videos'. Under each of those sections I have SUB-SECTIONS for different types of that work. For example, under 'Poetry', I have sub-sections for 'Rhyming', 'Free-Verse', and 'Shorts'.

I would like for you to add an option in the 'Publishing Options' to where I can select whether or not to have an article display on the Section and Sub-section pages, WITHOUT it displaying on the CMS Home page. The bulk of my content I want to display in the Section and Sub-section pages, however I do not want them to show on the CMS home page. I know that I can simply deselect pagination on the CMS home page, and manually set the display order of each article (which is what I'm currently doing), but this still adds hundreds of articles in my AdminCP CMS Content Manager for my CMS Home page, which I never want to display there.

To take it back to my example, say I have 50 poems in each of my three poetic sub-sections, and I only plan to show ONE of them on my CMS home page. I would like to be able to set the 'Publishing Options' for that ONE poem to show on the CMS Home page, the Section Page 'Poetry' and the Sub-Section Page 'Rhyming'. As for the other 149 poems, I would like to be able to set the 'Publishing Options' to where they ONLY show up on the aggregate 'Poetry' Section page, and then in their specific subsection pages, 'Rhyming', 'Free-Verse', or 'Shorts'.

This seems like an easy change for vB, and I think it would add a lot of usability to the CMS, and help it become a much more ROBUST system. Without this, my home page will eventually have thousands of posts to sift through to select the 10 that I actually want to display. That would be overwhelming!

Additionally, on the AdminCP side, it would be nice if in the CMS Content Manager, we had the ability to bulk manage these preferences. For example, you currently have options to Publish, Un-publish, Move, and Delete - it would be nice if "un-publish" would not actually unpublish the article from ALL sections, but would remove it from THAT SECTION only, UNLESS that section is the ROOT section for that particular article type.

For example, if again I have a poem in the Home > Poetry > Rhyming (section). If I am in my AdminCP, in the CMS Content Manager for 'All Content in Section: Home' and I select to "un-publish" my poem, it would be nice if it just un-published it from that section (Home), and left it published in the "Poetry" section and in the "Rhyming" sub-section.

If you don't want to modify the behavior of the "un-publish" for some reason, then you could add another option to simply omit it from that section.

Of course if I select to "un-publish" a poem from the ROOT of "Rhyming", it is probably safe to assume that I don't want it in the "Poetry" or "Home" sections either. At least, that would be my thinking. I think the selection should affect any sections "above" the modified section, but not "below" it. (Just my opinion.)

These options could also be mass-managed on the "front-end" using the 'content' list at the bottom of page when you edit any particular Section or Sub-Section.

Thanks for your consideration. You're getting closer to having a GREAT product here!
