CMS Struggling with Permission Preview

I have a section in my CMS called Tech. I want unregistered users to be able to view this section with article previews and to see article previews on the home page as well, but I do not want unregistered users to be able to actually read tech articles. I thought the setting for this was "Permission Preview" on each article in the section. I enabled this option on the only article I have in there so far, and neither the preview for the article nor the Tech section itself show up when I am not logged in. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__
