Some of these are just things that are different with 4, some are issues where 4 is broken, but all are making 4 feel like a very broken/beta version of your software guys... We only tried it once the gold announcement came out as we don't have time to beta test for you guys. Anyway, here are the complaints I'm getting from my end users, so please help me figure them out:
user won't stay logged in on the CMS/"main" page. They're logged in on the forum and stay logged in there, but whenever they go to the "home" page, it shows them as logged out. Even if you log in right there, it instantly spits you out to the main CMS page again with you NOT logged in. Click back onto the forum and they're still logged in there.....
are there settings now to turn off the quick reply box? Is that user definable? A lot of us used to use the advanced version only so when we hit "post reply" it'd just go to the advanced one. Now we need to hit that button to get the quotes into the quick reply THEN click the "go advanced" button to get that version...
the quick navigation button at the bottom brings up the drop menu of the options on it and ALWAYS defaults to the top item on the list. This makes using this menu VERY SLOW which is not the point of a QUICK menu... It shows the right forum link in the window by default, it's just that when you click on it it brings up all the options before you can then click on them and it starts at the top of the list....
ie6? Yeah, yeah, I've seen your response that you should update that if you've got it and if it's a work computer they shouldn't be posting. This is UNACCEPTABLE. Netbooks ship with XP and IE6 brand new RIGHT NOW. So forget WHY people are using IE6 and make it work with your software please. It'd be one thing if this was free software, but to pay $250 for website software that's broken in a major browser? That's unacceptable guys.
Is there documentation hidden somewhere about what variables control what for making our forum not look like an out of the box vb install? There are several themes on vb.org and we're using one now, how'd the figure out how to make it look decent? We did just fine with the vb3.x setup and have a style we like, we just need to know which variables to tweak to get it to work... I know the new software is different, but you guys really should have made some sort of functionality to convert a vb3 style into a somewhat working vb4 style to give us something to work with...
