I run a role-playing site (http://www.dykal.net/) that uses both the VBa CMPS (version 3.2.1) and Addon Chat. My chats are integrated with my vbulletin forums using AoC's official remote authentication system.
Recently I've been experiencing an error that involves my chat room displaying a "service temporarily unavailable" message when users try to log in. Users currently in the chat are not booted* but no new users can enter. This error seems to happen daily* beginning around 9 PM EST and lasting until about 2 PM EST the next day. At that point the chats will begin working again on their own and continue until around 9 that night* when the cycle repeats itself. However* if I turn off remote authentication* the chats begin working again (but stop working as soon as I turn remote authentication back on).
I contacted AoC support and they feel that it is a conflict between my vba CMPS and the authentication script and recommended removing CMPS or turning off remote authentication.
However* I'm not sure about this explanation. Our website was down for about six months* and we just switched to a new webspace provider (a friend with a private server* not a large ptovider like we previously used). Prior to the downtime* we used CMPS and AoC together* with remote authentication* on our site for two or three years without incident.
So* basically* I'm mystified. Any ideas?
