Okay* so I have an owned vBulletin 3.x license whose upgrade permit expired in June and haven't been around to check on vBulletin for a while. Now I see this whole 4.0 mess and have a hard time grasping exactly what this means for me* despite having looked through the FAQ. Please note that I have no interest in the full Publishing Suite and am only talking about upgrading to the 4.0 Forum.
First of all* does the fact that I didn't renew my upgrade capabilities in June really mean that I need to pay almost the full price of a new owned license to upgrade to 4.0? Exactly why is this? My memory of how it worked previously is a bit hazy* so forgive me if something similar was in effect before for those who did not renew before the upgrading capabilities of the license expired.
Secondly* if I do purchase a 4.0 upgrade* will I still have to pay annual fees to be allowed to download future upgrades to the 4.0 forum? What about 3.8 - will there be further new versions of that? If I choose not to upgrade to 4.0* will I have to continue to pay annual fees to access 3.8.x upgrades?
