Albums How about a Gallery tab and layout option

I've been using vBgallery on one of my sites for several years and have liked it* but the new asset manager and albums comes darn close to replacing it. The main thing that is missing is an overall album categories capability. We now have the ability for each person to create as many image albums as they want* so this creates a pretty respectable personal gallery. I believe that all you need to do in order to get it there is add a "Gallery" tab to the tab row* and organize it by categories. Then you'd also need to add the requirement (this should be able to be forced) to pick at least one category for images that you put in the asset manager. I believe that the best way for this to work would be not to deal with it directly in the asset manager* but once images were added* that it redirected the user to a list of the images they just added asking them for caption* categories* etc.

Now hears another nice add-on to that. Assuming that the categories are aligned with your forums (prefix or tags... not sure which fits)* blogs (categories) and CMS (categories)* there should be some widgets to allow a rotating view of these. So for example* on your CMS layout you add a widget that rotates the last 1-x images from the album assigned to the category that matches your current selection. Also* at the top of the showthread and forumdisplay of the forum* you allow the option to rotate 3-4 images across the top that match that category.

Here is a link to our vBgallery implementation* which should give some ideas for how a "Gallery" tab could look. It seems that all you'd need to do is allow for the selection of categories when inserting images into the albums and you'd have all the information you need to create this page... http://northeastfoto.com/gallery/
