The new 2006 Saleen Mustang is based off of the same engine and drivetrain as the 2005* but this supercharged* 3-valve V8 is pushed up to 465hp. Saleen said this increase of 35hp over the supercharged 2005 model is somewhat matched by his increase of 5hp over the 2005 N/A model* a SOHC pushed from 330hp to 335hp. The supercharged model is said to be stickered at just over $51*000 and the N/A model will be at just over $42*000. Along with the Racecraft Suspension* Saleen includes a convertible model at nearly $56*000 and the all-new "cool tops" line. The Saleen cool tops cars include a Saleen Speedster with a tonneau cover and sport bar (much like sn95 models)* and a Saleen Scenic Roof is avaliable too* with a panaramic* moonroof extending the entire roof of the car* from windshield to windshield. The Scenic Roof line is said to be debuted in January 2006 as a 2006 model.
