AL-Maqabi Threatened with cancer & has'nt cure

He is one of the men that were not given attention. He is one of the heroes who suffered torments of AlKhalifa prisons. He is one of those who were screaming in the dark, where no one knows him or knows his place. He is one of the victims who suffered for years in prison. He is the free hostage in the prison of the tyrants.

He is, Ahmed Mahdi AlMagabi, from Almagaba village, Bahrain. He had social, religious and political activities that were well known about, & that is the reason he was targeted by the AlKhalifa national security system. Ahmed suffered from Alkhalifa prison during the 90’s uprising, and now, during the February 14 revolution. In this report, we’ll be telling Ahmed Mahdi Almagabi’s story, as told by him to us, about his agonies in AlKhalifa prison.

It said:

From the different type of torture Radhi Sama’a underwent, he said he won’t forget the scene of torture that Ahmed Mahdi AlMagabi went through. Ahmed was kept in the same cell with Radhi for a day & a half in Dry Dock prison. Radhi said that masked men came into the cell, took Ahmed away for an hour, and returned him back in a grueling condition.

The tormentors threw him back in the cell. He wasn't able to move, which shows how severely he was beaten. He was weeping and moaning out of pain. We tried to calm him down & try to make him sit up, but we couldn't. He wanted to be left alone.

Ahmed was beaten severely & was kicked strongly. His pants were taken off & he got electrocuted in his sensitive areas. He remained lying on one side of his body for a while, unable to sit up. Later, one of the masked men came in & threw Ahmed's pants at him. He threatened he would do the same to the rest of the prisoners.

The repetitive calls he got for investigation & his arrest before the February 14 Revolution:

Calling & Arresting Al Maqabi had repeated before 14-feb-2011:

· 1983: Was working in the Islamic Awareness Society as a driver – the Criminal Investigation inside the Fort (State Security)- he was humiliated and tortured by Investigator “Al Akwary” along other torturers. He was then released on the day he was called, the charge he was called for is ridiculous (Inciting people on not to enter the house of one of the governments employees).

· 1985: Al Maqabi was arrested for a month (During Muharam )

· 1987: He was arrested from the street while driving his car in Manama, charged with distributing political publications and was transferred to Al Qudaibiya Police station (Tortured by the well known torturer Al Sa’aty ).

· 1988: Arrested after raiding his house, and was released on the same day.

· May- 1989: He was arrested for more than 18 months .

· 1992 : After the Gulf War, he visited Kuwait and his house was raided & searched while he was away.

· 1992: Arrested by officer ”Al Akwary” and was kept for three days in the Criminal Investigations ( State Security Department)

· From 1992 until 14-2-2011:

1- Anytime he was travelling to KSA, he was investigated and critically searched on the Saudi’s borders. He as well as whomever travelling with him, were subjected to disgraceful inspection (such as strip search).

2- He was under direct & explicit surveillance by MOI intelligence unit.

3- His passport was confiscated after investigating the circumstances of the Marathon that triggered the 1990s revolution in Bahrain.

4- He was called five times before his recent arrest.

On one day, the political leader (who is now in prison too) Scholar Sheikh AlMoqdad visited the house of Ahmed. This is not surprising as Ahmed was engaged in religious & social activities in Religious centre known as "Hawza". This visit was yet another test from God to Ahmed.

In the middle of the night, his house got raided.. & threats to attack his honor (the females who were at the house)…..:

It was 1:10AM, I was exhausted and wanted to sleep, when my wife shook my body and cried "The army has attacked us!"

I woke up frightened, wearing my pajamas. The front door of the house was shaking, as they tried to break in. I immediately went to my daughters' room to inform them that the army was here, for them to cover themselves. But, while hurrying towards their room, the army men who were dressed up as civilians and masked were already in the house. One of the pointed his guns towards me and shouted "Who are you?”... I answered, "Ahmed Radhi".

He was waiting for this answer. He immediately grabbed him by his hair and hit his head against the walls. He asked me, "Where is the guest that came over to your house this evening?".. I answered "What are you talking about?" .. he & the men along with him immediately started beating me until I fell unconscious. I was kicked on my "private area". "I was a goner", I thought, out of pain. I then woke up, and heard one of them ordering the group "Get me his daughter so I can sexually assault her!", when one of them came in holding Sayed Baqer who was covered in blood.

When they were about to assault my daughter, I told them the scholar (Sheikh AlMoqdad) was somewhere else, so they dragged me to their car while I was just in my underwear, without any shoes on, covered in blood and blindfolded.

I then gave them directions to the apartment where Sheikh AlMoqdad was hiding in. I wasn’t blindfolded, so I was able to see all the cars and armies heading towards the apartment, as if they’re here to occupy the entire country!

Gloating enemies... The scene of tears and anguish

They opened the door of the car for him in front of the apartment, they got out of the car and they were carrying their guns and the rest of them had things to open the door with. They all attacked the door and it fell on the ground. The house has been raided in an illegal way.

I was sitting in the car and my body was shivering and the torture that I have been through beside the insult and humiliation using the ugliest words and electrocution. The military left the small apartment empty handed and started beating me whenever they had the chance to with their hands and legs. At the same time the other group of them were in the case of hysterical and were raiding the houses which are near and breaking it without any permission.

It seemed to me that the Sheikh has come out before they reach, they became out of that house and walk to another ... They searched all the houses, and after half an hour of intensive searching with Saeed’s brother-in-law and brother, I was hearing the sound of Saeed screaming in the apartment, he was tortured too. They wanted to know where the Sheikh is. After half an hour they took me out of the car to the apartment and I was surrounded by a group of more than 10 people, they were torturing me by using different ways, electrocution, beaten by batons, and they wanted to know where the Sheikh is and the truth is I don’t know where he is!

After torture, I was dragged on the ground from the inside of the apartment to outside and there be stairs on the apartment’s room which is higher than the ground by 1.5 meter. I was dragged on that stairs to the car and that’s because I couldn’t move.

Two hours passed and it was almost 3 o’clock, I heard their happy voices and they were congratulating and kissing each other. It was all moments and one of the military asked me to get down of the car and he wants me to look at the Sheikh. I looked at the Sheikh and I got gosh bumps from that horrible scene. The Sheikh was fully naked. I cried deeply unwillingly, I heard one of them asking for clothes. I didn’t know if they wanted to the clothes to cover his body or not. When they got what they wanted from us, they took us to the car handcuffed and blind folded.

The going to the National Security Headquarter.. Where the tortured doctors are.

“We were taken to Manama where the National Security Headquarter, as for who were with me and I was sure that they were arrested with me, they were four and I was their fifth (Sayed Baqer, Sheikh Al Moqdad, Sa’eed Shabeeb & Fadhel Abbas). As for who were taken from their houses and were beaten, tortured and dragged in the street were about 35 person and do not know if they were arrested or not."

"Sent down to the clinic, since my right foot crossed the clinic door, one of the guards put his shoes on my barefoot toes and rubbing it, emerged from the car and a group of them headed to me to beat me until I fall down on the ground, even though they did not stop beating me on the ground! .. Dragged me like a slaughtered sheep to inside the clinic, and it was all taking a share of the beatings, even the nurses and doctors and after a fatty meal of beating I had on their hands, they put the blood pressure monitor on me and all I understood from them that my blood pressure is very high, and I said this may be an intercessor for me from beating! But it did not and all that happened while my eyes were blindfolded.”

"We got to the crypt of death.. The first thing they have done after the beating, cursing and insults is taking us to the clinic of the Fort (AL Qala’ah – MIO Building) for examination, I wished that I died before I entered that room .. I barely could step few steps down the stairs of the crypt painstakingly and I was put standing up against the wall, and after about 5 minutes I fall down on the ground, the torturers came quickly carrying cables, and they beat me without mercy, asking me to stand up .. I could not move as my body was exhausted and completely collapsed, so they had to drag me to one of the cells and sat on the bed, and remained on that case barred from prayer and the bathroom, I was not aware of time, weather it was at night during the day, but some days I got to know the times through meals served to us and deprive from it some other times"

"The investigation was initially normal, and may already be familiar to some of the investigators through their voices as they had interrogated me in previous years, including Issa al-Naimi, Mohammed Owaid (Jordanian), but the principal investigator who was Jordanian nationality and did not recognize his name, unfortunately"

Starting torture sessions .. Screams in the dark

Investigation focused with Miqdaam Almkaba on several things, including: Secular Islamic Council – Al Wefaq Islamic Society - accused of collaborating with the Lebanese Hezbollah in the nineties in which the sentence was of 8 years – AL Bayan Office of Religious Reviews"

"I was left in the cell nearly two hours, I could hear the screams and moan unjustly imprisoned and screams for help, so it was my turn ... I could hear from the detainees that they had been subjected to sexual harassment and since I passed a lot of this Body - The Former State Security Body - and what it of torments and items and I was not suffered from such type of filthy torture where this type of figured a bit skeptical, especially because I did not hear from the detainees who were with us in the nineties "

"The executioner dragged me by my clothes torn while I was blindfolded, and that drove me where they want swooped on from all sides, including of electrical shocks and some of them tearing my body with rubber pipe (Houz), and others slapping with their hands, fists even threw me to the ground and the Jordanian Officer ordered to take off my clothes and since I lost the resistance was easily removed and prostrated me .. and I was crying involuntarily and begging to leave me, but all attempts failed, and Jordanian Officer was uttered very verbally abusive and take to beat me on the soles my feet and I was lying on my stomach on the ground "

Sexual harassment through torture .. No mercy!

"He put (Grease) and put them the pipe with it in the anal and moved it and I was screaming for help, but to no avail, torture continued with me on the same way for more than two hours, after torture they asked me: Where are the swords that you have guarded AL Moqdad out with it?. As this issue was totally not true, torture continued for two days and in the same filth, the Officer despaired of this requirement and invented a new story which is that “Sheikh Issa Qassem attended me personally with the Lebanese!” The Officer tortured me in the same filthy method with (Al Failaqah), and also despair of this subject and faked another topic which is “where the weapon is located with Al Moqdad??” He was just faking stories for torturing me in brutal and grievous ways.. "

"On the sixth day afternoon (through the meals I got to know the time) having finished torture obsessed jerk severe in my body and my anal was bleeding, and they asked me to go to the bathroom for bathing and replaced my clothes (pants and Pijama) and then was transformative to Dry Dock Prison which is special for The National Security, and there was a special reception for us with various kinds of torture! "

"They put me in a cell with two Person, Haji Abbas (Bilad Al Qadeem village) and Mohammad Ali (Nuwaidrat village). On the second day was get me out of the cell to a room where the (Jordanian investigator with the collection of the executioners) were there, And I was handcuffed and blindfolded."

Unjustified Torture continues.. Brutal!

"The torturer was threaten me by saying: I’ll be chasing you.. They tortured me in the same manner .. beat me violently and they repeatedly entering the pipe once in the anal and once in my mouth .. and they also connect electrical wires in the penis and he wants to know where the weapon was in the possession of the leader figure Shaikh Al Moqdad according to his claim .. and the torture session ended without taking any answers from me except that they have abused my honor and purity. Then they took me to the cell in my pijama without underwears and I think that Mohammed Ali mentioned this incident in his report "

"Then stop me to investigate, but did not stop torture although that case was arrested for its investigation took ten minutes, which is “cover up the Sheikh Mohammed Habib al-Miqdad” and “crowd” .. put a surveillance camera in the cell, as we daily hear agent of insults to the religeon and parents as well as blows and slaps to the head and face, The Official Officer was Bader Ghaith creative in torturing and make agony all the time we did not know the taste of sleep and do not taste Meals provided "

"I spent almost a month and twenty days and they did not bring me the statement that was written against me and after this period by two days they brought testimonies of all those who were with me in the arrest and asked us to sign without knowing the including despite the attempt to object to signing and signature has been removed from me on to statements I did not know what they are until I went to courts .. we went to the military prosecutor on Friday 28/5/2011 while blindfolded and shackled to a place we do not know what is this place and have been investigated with us and they grabbed us sign papers without taking-off the bandages on the eyes and put us after ten days before the Military Courts and were sentenced to three years after several sessions.. The second statement I did not know anything about it until after the presentation of the regular courts and was sentenced to 6 months "

Deliberately delay of Treatment session caused by torture ..

"Regarding therapeutic which the its name is the only thing remains from it after the filthy torture where pipe and grease are being used in the anal has caused me infections and lacerations gave me back my hemorrhoids after healed them, and the place look like ulcer and bleeding constantly and after I was taken to a clinic has been transformative to the Military Hospital (BDF Hospital) at the end of June 2011, doctor examined me, and told that I need an operation but the position is inflamed so he gave me another appointment"

"After I took medication for a month, I was taken the Military Hospital (BDF Hospital), the doctor examined me and select a date for the operation. However, the appointment date coincided with the trial (Ministry of Justice) and has been rescheduled for the process. And on 03/10/2011 we were transformative to Dry Dock Prison while the appointment date was unknown, and after a month and a half I was taken to the Military Hospital (BDF Hospital) to re-examine and date has been set for the operation at the beginning of February 2012."

"During this period I was suffering from pain and bleeding and I have been using a piece of cloth by placing them in the back passage so as my clothes are not to become unclean, and in the day of the appointment stepped the car after been searched until an order came to get out of the car to another appointment for the claim that the doctor does not exist"

"I went back to the cell and remained in my situation for 3 months suffering from pain and then I went to the clinic and after constant demand and explained to the doctor about my situation, He told me:” you do not have any time!!” I Has been transformative for the Military again in June 2012, before Ramadan, they took me to the Military Hospital, after examination, the doctor said: ”I will set a date for an operation!!”. However, we are now in October 2012 and still waiting for the next date."

Ahmed Al Maqabi, all prison bars bent in respect for you, all other sacrifices became silent in front of yours, Your Steadfast made the jailors look unable.. And patience became a school to learn to the strugglers.
