Morning all. So here's the deal- I am polishing the bugs out of a new forum running 4.2, and debating the use of rep. I am also a member of a similarly focused international forum that does use the rep system, but with over 300k members it seems that over the past year, the rep system has become more of a plaything for a select group of members than it has been for recognizing members for their contributions across the board.
One glaring issue that the rep system seems to have on the large board is that people do not have to sign their names when they neg rep, just a comment will suffice. Positive rep can be doled out with just a click, but negative rep only needs a comment. It's been a large point of contention since it was activated and people still complain about it- which makes me leery about adding the rep functionality into the new regional forum I am helping to run.
Is there a setting I am missing that forces someone to identify who they are when they rep someone, either positive or negative? Or are there any mods/plugins/addons I can use that will accomplish the same thing? I would kinda like to keep the "rep whores" in check, and not have to hear endless whining about "I got negged for something I said and don't know who did it."
