I spent $200 per license like everyone else as an early adopter, based upon numerous promises of the Mobile Suite being the premiere vBulletin mobile solution. We waited well over 1.5 years to see some of the substantial development that was promised for this product. We experienced long periods of no development and mostly a few minor fixes just to get these very crude apps to work which nobody uses because of development neglect.
Now the first sign of what is supposed to be real Mobile Suite development in 1.4 has been held back to be released after our time period for updates expires. Customers are being demanded to pay $100 per license just to get what developers should have been working on the past 1.5 years instead of allowing us to watch our paid update time expire. Making things worse, you're now selling this new to customers at only $150?? (An admission of just how poor development of the $200 app has been.) This is incredible gall.
For all this talk about how you reward your customers with a worthless three month extension for the purpose of just providing a very late fix so these poor apps would just work, it would seem that Internet Brands / vBulletin has treated the loyal customers about as badly as one could ever imagine. Myself and several others raised these issues over 6 months ago in order to avoid a terrible decision like this. The vBulletin 5 policies and transition have been nefarious and if there is any discussion about making changes to some completely unacceptably bad customer treatment, I'm hoping that some staff members can find a way to raise the Mobile Suite issues management ASAP.
