Hi,
I own a vb 3.5.3 website running on php and mysql versions that are too old for vBulletin4.
I have been looking for the answer to my question for hours on the forums but I had no luck.
I would be greatful if someone helped me with this:
I have already backed up everything and have an exact copy of my website on which to carry out tests.
At this point, what would be the correct order of doing things ?
CASE 1:
Update php and mysql to versions compatible with vb4
Upload vb4 files to webserver and go through installation process which will give me the option to update to 3.8 and update to 3.8 first? (I have read that it is reccomended to upgrade to 3.8 first, then to vb4. Will the vb4 installation process give me that option?)
After 3.8 update, go ahead with the vb4 update.
OR
CASE 2
Upload vb4 files to webserver and go through installation process which will give me the option to update to 3.8 and update to 3.8 first? (I have read that it is reccomended to upgrade to 3.8 first, then to vb4. Will the vb4 installation process give me that option?)
Update php and mysql to versions compatible with vb4
Continue update process to vb4
Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for any help.
