Bye for now

I just wanted to make a brief announcement, a sort of a good bye for now, to the phpws community. After many years, I am giving up on self-employment and have accepted a job at a local university. I'll be doing much the same kind of work, but unfortunately, I am moving to an asp.net shop. Although I will enjoy the new challenges, I also have a lot of learning to do over the next few months, and will have very little time for anything php and phpws related.

I will miss the friends I have made in this community. I will also have to leave new features and enhancements I have had in mind for my mods on hold for now. Most of my work is now distributed with the core, and hopefully will receive enough maintenance to stay compatible with new versions of phpws as they come along. They are all ready for phpws 1.7.

If anyone wants to introduce new features to my mods, or take over future development of one of them, please contact me through a private message. I do hope to get back to them at least as a hobby some day, but that could be quite a while off.

Best luck to my friends here and at app state. I still believe that phpws is amongst the best CMS's available and I will miss working with it. I just haven't been able to make a reliable living working with open source software and a smallish local market.
