I have an issue that seems familiar, as if it has already been discussed here. I think my vBulletin Search-Fu is weak, and I just can't find it, but maybe someone else can. Preamble: PHPWebSite is my favorite CMS to set up when I'm doing free stuff for local non-profits. One of the reasons (of several) is that I can set up group permissions for various pages of their web site, and let them take care of their own content. I set group permissions, and then add individuals to which ever group(s) are appropriate. Group permissions let each faction or individual maintain their own areas without starting edit wars over other groups content (and there always competing factions, even if each faction is just one person). This makes the web site fire-and-forget for me, since I don't need to do anything but deal with the occasional modification request. Issue: Users can not change pages they create. When a user creates a new page in pagesmith, he does not have permissions to go back in and edit the page. I have to log in with a more admin-ish account, go to permissions, and assign the group in Edit restrictions. The user typically is a member of a group that has restricted edit permissions for pagesmith, with no permissions as an individual. I would like to set it up so when a user creates a new page, that user and every other member of that user's group all have edit permission on the new page. Failing that, I would at least like the user to be able to edit pages he created. Any Ideas? __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__ |
