So I'm looking through my slow query log on my master DB server* and the only slow queries that ever get run on it now are queries that should (imo) be running on slave DB servers anyway.
The most common one being the hourly cron job that queries for pmtextid's of orphaned records in pmtext.
I really don't see any reason at all that query (or many others within cron processes) need to run on the master DB server.
While we are at it* there should be a different type of query method imo... db->query_read_slow and let us define a specific slave DB server for those queries. I'm currently overriding the slave DB settings within my config.php file based on THIS_SCRIPT... And queries running via things like search.php just go to a dedicated slave DB server that does nothing but those crappy queries.
