VB Calendar - the forgotten feature

I wrote a thread about this before in here and VB.ORG... and i wanted to bring this up again...

For now... facebook is one of the key social networks that everyone looks at for guidance and usage patterns when implementing stuff on your own site... They have reported that the PHOTO gallery is the most used feature and then their EVENT CALENDAR... Their event calendar is such a basic feature that didn't require much innovation or effort....

Then we have the VBCALENDAR... i have referred to it as the Bastard Child of Vbulletin because i can't even remember the last visible update that went to the calendar... previous posts indicated that the vbcalendar would be released as a seperate product but I really haven't seen any recent posts referring to the calendar...

It is such an underutilized tool becuase the basic functionality isn't that great... heck... we've begged for the ability to upload an image/attachment to an event for years... ppl don't mention it no more becuase the website owners who use it is in the minority... and we can never be in the majority cuz no one wants to incorporate a sub-par feature...

I know of the argument that you can't compare VB to FBOOK... but i am just comparing a specific feature that really isn't over the top in regards to requirements...

I have basically modded the hell out of the current VBCALENDAR to ALMOST get it working how i want it... but alot of members are missing out on this feature that can really add a great entertainment element to their site...

p.s. feel free to point me to a thread that talks about the calendar in VB4... thanks __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__
