CMS I don't have an image settings option in my CMS?

I just upgraded from 4.0.1 to 4.0.7... I'm trying to get some posts on the "home page" and I'm having issues formatting the size of the images? Right now they get clipped by the right hand sidebar because the image is too wide. I've found the settings for the small medium and large image sizes for CMS posts, but I can't seem to figure out HOW to set an image to be "large" instead of full size inside a post?

When I click on the image button it just lets me upload an image from my computer or use a URL. If I use the URL link it just drops it in full size? I'd prefer to NOT upload the images if possible, but if that's required can someone walk me through all the settings?
