CMS CMS/Forum Permission Problem with Article Discussion Threads

Regular users on my forum are having permission issues all of a sudden since the upgrade to 4.0.4pl1. For instance, I had all of the article discussion threads going into my "Articles and Site News" forum instead of the 'vBCms Comment' forum. Since the upgrade, Registered Visitors cannot access that forum. When they do it states:

Invalid Forum specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator

When they click on a thread it says they don't have permission.

I have checked the permission for registered visitors and they definitely have permission/access to that forum.

I went into the admin panel and changed the drop site for the discussion threads created by CMS articles to the 'vBCms Comment' forum. Now registered users cannot get into that forum.

So it seems whereever the CMS articles are putting their discussion threads is wherever there is a permission bug.
