How to get two background images to render?

Hello,

We are making a site that uses joomla on the frontend and vb3.85 for the forum.

I am busy skinning a forum skin to match the joomla front end, and have just one small problem to solve that im hoping someone here can help with.

The joomla background is made up of 2 images. One which is set to repeat and anothre smaller image which sits at the top of the page which repeats x (left to right):

Now, trying to get that same effect in vb3.85 is causing me a headache.

In style manager > my style > All Style Options, i have set the full repeating background in the body background textbox:

#000000 url(images/darkfutura/full_bg.png) repeat
That works fine, but its the second graphic up top that I can't get to work at the same time:

I did add the following to the body extra css textbox, but that renders the second image and looses the main background:

background-repeat: repeat-x;
background-position: left top;
height: 206px;
border-bottom-style: 1px solid;
border-bottom-color: #252525;

See that the top image now appears, but the full background is now just black and not showing the full bg image.

Is this even possible in vb style manager?
