Forum Facebook - Issues with Required Custom Fields

I have two custom fields which are required when registering on my forum.

I upgraded to 4.0.4 yesterday and setup Facebook integration. But when linking the accounts, I get two errors saying that the custom fields are not found.

I figured I'd make these two fields not required (but optional at registration), and all worked.... except that now when linking the accounts, these two fields are reset - making them blank. Not good! I'm guessing if I don't show these at all at registration, then all will be ok - but I need these at registration.

I have 'Enable Auto Register' turned off by the way.

How do I get the system to ignore required custom fields entirely? I really want this Facebook feature running, but I can't have these two fields messed up. Please help. __DEFINE_LIKE_SHARE__
