I am upgrading from 3.83 to 4.0.3. I completed 4.0.2 upgrade and am now on 4.0.3 upgrade. It times out on altering post table. I have around 3 million posts in the database. This is what I see:
Step 1) Misc Table Alterations
Altering attachment Table (1 of 1)
Updating attachment table
Altering templatehistory Table (1 of 1)
Updating templatehistory table
Altering post Table (1 of 1)
Altering post Table (1 of 1)
At that point it stops and says done. I check the mysql server status and can see the process still running (for around an hour) to alter the post table. I thought it would complete and then if I ran it again it would continue from the next table. But after completing the process, when I re-ran the import script it restarted from the beginning of 4.0.3 upgrade and again went through alter post table, which again timedout.
Is there an alternative to this? Can I run the mysql commands manually, and if so, which commands should i run.
