A few questions, a sugestion and an dream idea

Sugestion

keep the Blog Categories above the Title so users start by choosing the category before the start writing to the blog (my users are allways forgeting to check at the right category)

Now I have questions
Can I have a custom field for users to fill out under one specific category?
And Is it possible to have a calendar for each category?

The Dream Idea is for a gardening blog
This idea can be used by many others to It is maynly about the possibilities to make your own custom lists and fields for users to fill out.

What it would do is to allow users to input specific info about there gardening days
Lets say the category is called MY GARDEN
User can choose from a drop down list or make a custom choose what plant he planted that day.
How big it was that day, and where he bought it from.

A widget in your blog would say:
My GARDEN, HAS
353 trees

30 flowers
1 pond
6 stones

etc...
