CMS How to increase the number of words in the CMS Frontpage?

Quite a n00b question, but I wanted to know how to increase the number of words/characters in the frontpage articles of the CMS.

Basically the above screenshot will show exactly what I want. The current number of words coming from each article in the Frontpage is quite less and not content rich, anyway to increase the amount?

Lastly, this 2nd screenshot displays that I want to change the welcome message in the forum index. It says WheelsBD.com - Welcome to WheelsBD.com, I want to remove this text completely as it looks disproportionate and out of place.
