Forum What's the point of vB4.0 when it still cannot stop spam?

This is a huge frustration of mine. vBulletin 4.0 does not allow key words and phrases to be banned from being posted and yet I always have a single user that changes his Canadian IP address so that he can sign up and spam the same nonsense every few days.

I can't ban his IP because that would ban a chunk of my users. I can't hold posts in moderation queue based on key words because there are no feature to allow this as far as I know.

If vBulletin can't stop simple spam like this, what was the point of upgrading or making changes? This is a common problem with many forums and it is not realistic to have moderators approve every message or to outright ban hotmail and gmail email addresses.
