I must be missing something really obvious here. I want to set up a Private forum that
(1) has the Private forum title totally hidden from view (even on the home page) until
(2) an authorized user logs in to the board.
(3) After the authorized user has logged in to the board and can now see the Private forum listing and has clicked it, I also want the authorized user to enter a password in order to access the private forum for reading and posting.
I have the following settings which are the ones that seem to be pertinent.
In Forum/Forum Manager/Edit "private forum",
"Show private forum" -> "No"
Posting option/Forum is Active -> "yes"
In Access Options, I have:
(A password manually set)
Apply password to child forums -> no
Can have password -> no
My understanding is that these settings should display the hidden forum "Private" only to those who have access, and that the forum listing will be hidden until the authorized user logs in. However, when I go to my board's homepage before logging in, I can see the "Private" forum listed (albeit with a "lock" icon). I can also see the "Private" forum listed with a "locked" icon if I log in as a different user (I have a testing user id set up for such things.) I don't want this forum to even be visible until after the authorized user has logged in. What am I missing?
