Added a new usergroup, unable to view Homepage.

I deleted 3 custom usergroups that I had created some time back and to replace it I created a single usergroup that I was going to place the people under. Upon creating the usergroup I copied all permissions from the Registered Users usergroup. Now when I change somebodies usergroup to the newly created group they can no longer view the homepage url as set in vboptions. Did I miss something as far as permissions go? Is there a permissions page for the homepage url? It seems when these people try to go to the homepage url it says they do not have access to that page. They must log out then relogin to get into the forums themselves. The forums work fine as far as I can tell but I have never had this problem before. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
