The story of the 16 Year Old Ammar Ali Mansoor AlSawad (From Wadyan, Sitra)... A victim of torture and repressive security crackdowns by Bahrain's security forces. Been arrested for 125 Days to date. Ammar is the Middle sibling, he started out by going to AlNoor International School, then moved on to Glory School from a year in Primary, and is now enrolled at Modern Knowledge School. Ammar is in his senior year, and by arresting him, he missed out on his exams and they have delayed/ruined his academic journey. At 3:30 AM, On Tuesday 6th of March, his house was surrounded by huge amounts of Riot Police and CID in civilian clothes. Only 8 of them raided the house, leaded by 1 of those in civilian clothing. They broke the front door and stormed in, their leader had a photo of Ammar and waved it at the family. They started asking about him and his whereabouts, and strangely, they knew their way around the house. They immediately went to Ammar's room. Ammar was sleeping, had no idea the house was raided. Once they saw him on his bed, they started beating him... He looked shocked, tired, unaware of what was going on, they cursed at him, at his family... He was taken away, arrested. None of these forces are being held accountable; on what basis are you to beat a man, peacefully sleeping? How did he harm them? Why curse him? Raid the house as such? But the violations he had gone through in prison were much worse... For 3 days his family knew nothing about him... He was exposed to both physical and psychological torture. Right after his arrest, they took him to the Adliya Police Station and beat him randomly, but they were more focused on his head, and on his neck (from the back). He was beaten under the heat of the sun until he fainted, Then was forced into confessing to charges of riots, and more specifically, Burning a Police Jeep, under threat of rape and more and more torture. He remained for 3 days in the same clothes (something Ammar had a very hard time coping with). His health had deteriorated during his first couple of days in jail, and was moved to the MOI Fort hospital... stayed there for 2 days as his bones were Fragile. After that, his family got a phone call from him saying he's ok. The youth that were also arrested alongside Ammar (their houses raided the same time Ammar's house had been raided) on the same case were also exposed to Electrocutions, and were put (Standing, not allowed to sit down), blindfolded, in solitary confinement. They weren’t allowed to pray, eat, drink water, or even go to the toilet for some time. They too confessed, under torture (burns on their back, lashed using electric wires) and threats of kidnapping their family members, by officers Isa Al Majali and other Jordanian + Syrian Mercenaries. Something that the Judiciary System keeps ignoring is not only the torture, but the fact he's being accused of (and confessed to) burning a jeep next to NBB (Bank), while the actual incident and clashes on that day was next to AlAhli Bank. He is not only accused of doing something he never did, but he confessed to something that never happened! The details of the accusation are incorrect and NEVER HAPPENED! His Alibi: On the day that – he is accused of – assumingly burning a Riot Police jeep, Ammar was in home, in a private tutor session, at around 8:30... And by the time it was 10:30 (exact time that he is accused of participating in clashes), He was in his room, sleeping, as it was a school day the next morning... And just before sleeping, he was on skype with his friends. Witnesses: His sister (who was using his toilet at the time he was in the room), his friends whom he Skyped with, his private tutor, and his other siblings and parents. During his first visit, he looked tired... His mother started crying quietly, staring at his innocent face. Ammar went on a hunger strike for some time, alongside other prisoners, demanding that they change their statements (as in confession)... He lost a lot of weight, but they refused to give in. Ammar is known for caring about his appearance, fashion, and style. He has dreams of opening a Men's Salon, and a Studio too, as he is a great photographer as well. He likes swimming; going to the malls, coffee shops, gyms, and has a passion for Soccer and basketball, also participated in tournaments at Dubai. Ammar, despite being close with his family and friends, has no friends in Sitra, and in the place he lives in, he only goes to the Cold store, the mosque then straight back home.. All his friends are from outside Sitra, and when he's free, he goes out to play some billiards with them. (As in, those youth with him in the same case, of rioting and burning a jeep together, he doesn’t even know them!) Ammar is missed for his fun personality; he is very stubborn and loved for that. He doesn’t stay in the house a lot because of his studies, hang-outs, or other activities... Ammar really has nothing to do with politics and has been oppressed and victimized to an extent nobody ever imagined or expected, he must be released. Demand his Freedom. His next court case is on the 18th of July, this month, which would his 133rd day in prison. He had a visit yesterday, sending his regards to all, and "Sumood". His family remains shocked and sad to this day, his mother keeps getting sick and taken to the hospital (A Sickle-Cell Patient) ever since his arrest, his siblings have been getting weaker and weaker, and his younger brother's grades have been worsening. They want their loved one back. #FREEALSAWAD
