April: Continued use of excessive force by security forces against gat

On April 13, Funeral procession of killed 22 year old citizen journalist Ahmed Ismail was attacked by security forces using tear gas and shotgun (birdshot pellets), several injuries were reported including an eye injury and a serious injury to the chest to a 15 year old boy who required to be admitted to the ICU. Lawyer Mohammed AlTajer said that 5 witnesses who came forward about Ahmed Ismail's killing, have been arrested, tortured and threatened with rape.
Bahraini Security forces used excessive force in oppressing peaceful protests that took place in several areas. Many injuries were reported among the protestors due to the use of excessive force, in addition to many cases of suffocation due to tear gas shooting.
