Forum will 3.8.3 => 4.0.6 upgrade change the attachment files or folder structure?

Hi all,

Short question - Does the upgrade process from 3.8.3 to 4.0.6 impact the attachment *FOLDER* when Attachment Storage Type is FOLDER?

Long question:

I'm going from 3.8.3 to 4.0.6.

I would like to prototype the new forum by duplicating the DB (done) and installing 4.0.6 into a separate folder, pointing to the duplicate db for the upgrade process. That way I can play with 4.0.6 and see what it would look like without breaking everything. Once we'd identify what needs to be changed, we would re-do the upgrade process (this time, normally) and make all those changes in one shot.

So... will the upgrade process change the files in the attachment folder at all? Should I make a copy of that and modify the attachment storage folder in the duplicate of the database, or can I just leave it there, so long as I don't add any new attachments in the new system?


Now before you say "lol, enry, of course you should duplicate it if you duplicated the db" please consider that I have 250,000 attachments occupying 56 gigs of data. Hence why I ask.
