I see this question come up from time to time, but most people seem to know more about how to do this than I do.
I could really use some help (or a tutorial!)...
I know almost nothing about Unix, but here's what I want to do:
Daily backups of my database, automated, over writing the previous day's backup. My database is small (less than 20meg) My host is a shared Unix server.
Have my local PC (Windows) log on to my host and download the file each day. (I can probably figure out how to do that once I find an automatable ftp client for Windows - I use FileZilla right now)
I could use mysqldumper (probably overkill) or just the included vbulletin script (vb_backup.sh), but can I use the "scheduled tasks" manager in vbulletin to add the daily backup job? How would I do that exactly?
Thanks to anyone who can help me figure out how specifically to do this!
